Privacy and Communication
Your privacy is important to me, and I take confidentiality seriously. This page explains how your information is handled when you contact me through this website or other methods.
HIPAA and Confidentiality
As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, I am required by law to follow the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which sets national standards for protecting your health information.
All clinical records, session notes, and client communications maintained through my secure systems (such as Sessions Health, Spruce Health and Google Workspace) are protected under HIPAA regulations.
I will not disclose your protected health information (PHI) without your written consent, except as permitted or required by law (for example, in cases of abuse reporting, danger to self or others, or court orders). You will receive a full Notice of Privacy Practices at the start of treatment outlining your rights and my legal responsibilities under HIPAA.
Website Contact Form
Please note that the contact form on this website is not a secure or encrypted form of communication. While it is suitable for general inquiries such as questions about services or scheduling, it should not be used to share sensitive or private health information.
Submitting information through the contact form means you understand and accept the potential risks involved, including that the information could be intercepted or accessed by unauthorized parties.
Email and Phone Communication
Phone, Voicemail, Text/SMS and Email communications are considered a standard, non-encrypted method of communication. This means that although I protect my devices and accounts with appropriate security measures, these methods of communication can still be vulnerable to unintended access or disclosure.
If you choose to communicate with me by Phone, Voicemail, Text/SMS and Email, please limit the information you share to non-sensitive topics such as scheduling or general questions. Do not include detailed personal, clinical, or financial information in an email or text.
Secure Communication Options
For your protection, I offer a secure, HIPAA-compliant methods of communication for current clients:

These platforms meet HIPAA standards for privacy and security and are the preferred ways to share sensitive or clinical information.
